The complete renovation and remodeling of the former Hotel Pombo resulted in the Hostal CasAntica. The hotel consists of two interconnecting buildings.
One has a large terrace on the second floor. Here guests can sit back and relax, drink a cup of coffee or get a perfect suntan. All of this, while enjoying the big 200-year old Cantera wall. On the third floor of this building, one can have the most astonishing view of the Oaxacan churches, even more beautiful at night. The other one has a small patio with a beautiful fountain. Around the patios the former nun rooms have been remodeled to 20 superior rooms, safeguarding the colonial design from those times. On the North wall, the hotel has three floors with 26 standard rooms, designed in the old, rustic Oaxacan Colonial style. The other side of the building is 200 years old and used to be a convent, that of the Santa Lucia Nuns. The style of the building reflects the architectural style of that age as well as the typical looks of a convent. The inner patio has a heated swimming pool and a beautiful stone fountain right by the Cantera wall. The Arco de San Miguel Restaurant used to be the church of the convent. While respecting the rules for the Historical Conservation, the hotel tries to implement all modern comfort such as double window doors to avoid noises into the room, cooler fan, cable TV, digital telephones, and Internet jacks. If guests wish the stay to be more comfortable, the hotel can offer junior suites with more space which stands for more comfort. The master suites have two floors each and the presidential suite has all the commodities and luxury for a room of this class. It has an impressive view of the Carmen Bajo Church.
